Cambridge Bay Inuit Art

Inuk Charlie is among the Northern artists who continue in the artistic traditions of their families. Inuk began carving at the age of seven. He now works in serpentine in addition to making jewellery. Inuk Charlie gets his artistic inspiration from watching the birds and animals and listening to elders tell their stories. Here is one of Inuk Charlie's bears. This bear is at the Detroit Zoo- Arctic exhibit.

Nanavut Arctic College Fine Arts

The Nunavut College of Fine Arts offers programs in Cambridge Bay. They feature courses on jewelry making and metalwork. Their courses have offered a new look at the traditional Inuit carvings, the result, a striking blend of technique and mediums that is truly unique.
